Ford FG Falcon Australia's First 5-Star Car Ford's all-new FG Falcon has become the first Australian-built car to receive a five-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). The petrol FG Falcon sedan range was awarded the maximum five-star safety rating with a total score of 34.6 points (out of a possible 37 points), giving it the highest score ever recorded by a locally-produced car in Australia by a significant margin. The FG Falcon's five-star score places it in the top seven per cent of all published ANCAP results, as well as in the top 24 per cent of published ANCAP five-star results. Holden Special Vehicles W427 update 06.20.2008 Holden Special Vehicles today announced the next steps in the seven litre W427 program, including pricing, volume and distribution strategy. Tom Walkinshaw confirmed the price of the W427 will be $150,000, plus on road costs, under the current Luxury Car Tax regime. The build volume has also been confirmed. HSV will build up to 427 W427s, with vehicles being built to order at the Clayton production facility. HSV has finalised the allocation strategy for the initial batch of cars. Each Australian and New Zealand HSV Dealer (64 in total) will be allocated one W427, as long as they have a firm retail order. New LS3 engine to power HSV from April 26.03.2008 Holden Special Vehicles today announced a running change to its award winning E-Series and WM Grange vehicles, with the new GM LS3 engine to be fitted across the range for cars on-sale from April. The upgrade will see the ClubSport R8, GTS, Senator Signature, Maloo R8 and WM Grange's power output rise to 317kW. Managing Director Scott Grant said the new engine was a welcome upgrade to the range of vehicles from Australia s luxury and performance car maker. "We know our customers want the latest and greatest technology in their cars," Scott Grant said.
