Stunning new design theme and all new driver features headline major upgrade for HSV
Holden Special Vehicles today unveiled the all new E Series 2 (E2) range featuring
several Australian production car firsts, a significant new design theme and a number
of new driver features for Australia’s favourite luxury and performance car company.

Managing Director Phil Harding said 09/09/09 was a proud day for HSV.
“We decided to make a major investment in new product, features and performance,
in a time of unprecedented economic turmoil,” Phil Harding said.
“The new E2 range is yet another opportunity to demonstrate the engineering and
design excellence of HSV,” he said.

Holden Operations Unchanged by Parent Company Announcements in the US


· Holden to be part of New GM;

· Holden not included in US filing under chapter 11;

· No direct impact on local design, engineering and manufacturing operations;

· Technology improvements to best-selling Commodore, introduction of second carline remain on track;

· No changes to Holden employees and supplier payment arrangements; and

· No changes to Holden dealer and warranty arrangements.

Holden will continue normal operations in Australia and New Zealand and does not expect changes to its business after General Motors announced it has taken court action in the US to launch a competitive New GM.

“Operations at Holden are unchanged in Australia and New Zealand and we expect it to remain that way,” Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Mark Reuss, said today.

Australian motor racing champion Mark Skaife to retire

Australia’s most successful touring car driver, Mark Skaife, today announced he will retire from full-time driving at the end of the 2008 season.
Skaife, 41, said the decision had been difficult, but that it was the right time to move on. “I've always admired sportspeople who know when it's time to retire, rather than waiting to be told,” he said.

“Motor racing has been my life for the past 21 years and, as any professional sportsperson will attest, if you have a love and passion for what you are doing, for the competition and being on top of your game, then retirement is not something you ever easily consider.
